didn't work with Office 64bits

description

I have tested Seal in different environments :

win7 64bit, Office 2010 32 bits : works fine.

win7 64 bits, Office 2010 64 bits : data access failed,

Microsoft has a solution for 64 bits environments (OS and applications) : to use :

Access Database Engine 32bits or 64 bits for Office (OLEDB 12.0) :
  • AccessDatabaseEngine.exe for 32 bits office and
  • AccessDatabaseEngine_x64.exe for 64 bits office.
However, connection strings are différents :
• Excel 2010
o Xlsx files
Connect to Excel 2007 (and later) files with the Xlsx file extension. That is the Office Open XML format with macros disabled.
Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=c:\myFolder\myExcel2007file.xlsx;
Extended Properties="Excel 12.0 Xml;HDR=YES";
"HDR=Yes;" indicates that the first row contains columnnames, not data. "HDR=No;" indicates the opposite.

Hi, Seal Report (version 1.4) is only available in 32bit version...
Thus you can not use 64bit database drivers with this version.

The 64bit version is planned to be developed in priority for next releases...wait and see.
